I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me
And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
You could take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all who's who and so-n-so's that used to be the best
At such'n'such ... it wouldn't matter much
I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights
We all need an 'Atta boy' or 'Atta girl'
But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides
The temporary trappings of this world
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love? Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace who
blessed your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
I don't have to look too far or too long awhile
To make a lengthly list of all that I enjoy
It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile
Where moth and rust, thieves and such will soon enough destroy
Not well traveled, not well read, not well-to-do or well bred
Just want to hear instead, "Well Done" good and faithful one...
i bought 3 dvds about 3 weeks ago. i watched one of them straight away on that day. cos i did not watch it when it came out years back. wanted to but didnt... A.I. - artificial intelligence. the boy's acting is really amazing.
i watched another one last week. i bought it cos i reali liked the movie. but i think it is rather controversial. some ppl say is nice, some ppl say is boh liao. i have to conclude that if u r an idealist and hopeless romantic like me (well, maybe not that hopeless lah... im still rather rational most of the time...), then u will say is nice. haha... The Leap Years. a singapore flick. i have to say im rather proud of this production compared to Money No Enough, 881 and such... (I Not Stupid i think is not bad...). i thought it is a class of its own though some reviews said that it is just speck with those cliche quotes... but hey, i like those so-called cliche quotes..haha...
and the last one, which i watched last nite. i watched it on the plane before yesterday and i reali liked it. very literature and poetic movie. brutal and real in a way. i think is rated R(A) in singapore. Atonement.
of all these 3 movies... very different genre.. yet i like all of them in very different manner. i watched all of the "bonus" in the dvds. the behind the scenes, commentary, interviews of the directors. (btw, i will comment on their plot, if interested, pls google them urself). yet one thing that strike me in all of them is the way they shoot their movie. the ideas and passion they portrayed. wow... fantastic... all 3 directors are very different too.
the one in A.I., steven spielberg challenged the impossible of the special effects at that time. kudos to the special effects ppl who did a wonderful job. i have to say i was amazed when i was watching the movie before i watched the behind the scenes... and the technology at that time... ooh.. i was even thinking to myself, how did they do that??
the one in The Leap Years managed to shoot singapore into a romantic place using angles and colors... nobody would thought singapore is romantic. and the scenes where joan chen is in... they look so ethereal and unreal... to portray that unrealistic feeling that she is feeling at that time. everything goes on, yet everything stops.
and the one in Atonement. he too stick to wat he wanted. to stick as close to the novel as possible. the way he shot the movie. just couldnt imagine how he thought it would be possible. he wanted the whole set to be as real as possible. using 5,000 real actors to instead of just using computer effects which i think most production will nowadays. finding a real english house than just constructing a set.
wow... shooting a movie is really something. everything in a movie is considered. now then do i understand when a friend who was studying media told me he watched movie not to watch the movie but how the director filmed and directed the whole show.
looking forward... to my second photography class this thursday... exciting!! last week was not bad. i think the teacher is quite good and friendly. looking forward to learn some new things and new friends.
looking forward... to my first class for my second semester for my digital media course. hopefully i can do much better than my previous semester. i got a A, B, C+ for my last semester... really didnt like that C+ but well, what to do? that kind of result for that kind of effort i knew i didnt do well for that subject since i only spent like 1 day for one of the assignments and also failed my test (i think. i cldnt possibly passed it...) i should be thankful that i got a C+...
looking forward... to the end of the year and having my reflection for this year and planning for the coming year...
and hope that i will be able to cope with my time :) and press in to spend more time with my Beloved! :)
ok. i saw the green light. but what now? where and when?
will it be better for my resign now or later? the where will be a further question i think. should i resign after i finished my part time course or before? if i were to resign after i finished, that will be in feb, the psychology course im thinking of pursuing will be in march. financially, issit viable?
plus, i still have not found one to replace me. but then, is not my problem to find a replacement isnt it? anyway, i really need wisdom toplan properly.
